Is America at a crossroads in its relationship to God? Has it already passed onto the road that will bring God's judgmental side into play? Are we already seeing the results of God's taking away the protective hedge as found in the Parable of the Vineyard (Isaiah 5:1-7)?
In this parable God had planted a vineyard in a very fruitful hill that it should bring forth grapes and it brought forth wild grapes. It was in reference to the men of Judah and the house of Israel. In the parable they are condemned for parading their sin before God. There was no shame, no remorse, nor fear of God.
Scripture records that the prophet Hosea cried out: "Hear the Word of the Lord you children of Israel: for the Lord has a controversy (or charge against) the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land" (Hosea 4:1).
Does God have a controversy with America? Is America at a Crossroads? As America continues sliding deeper and deeper into a cesspool of filth and degradation; flaunting her sins openly before God, what would preclude God's judgment?
What makes America, or any other nation, think they can weigh in on a sinful nature, seemingly without reproach, and not be weighed in the balance (Daniel 5:27)? Scripture reveals: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
Scripture reveals: Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, became of the blindness (or hardening) of their heart. Who being past feeling have given themselves to lasciviousness (that which is lewd or lustful), to work all uncleanness with greediness (Ephesians 4:18-19).
There are those who flaunt the Word of God by interpreting, or ignore, it to suit their own purposes, or lifestyle, or to justify their actions. They are alienated from the life of God due to their ignorance towards not accepting God's Word at its face value. Is America at a crossroads having chosen such a road to follow?
This road will only lead to destruction unless one comes to realize the error of their way and repentance comes into focus. God through His mercy gives space for repentance; unless one has become so hardhearted they will not hear what "Thus Saith the Lord."
America, and other ungodly nations, have a deceptive spirit sweeping in, as a flood, which washes away any opposition that stands in its path. We are seeing the crumbling of "once" godly ways. The ungodly have introduced that which is sweeping aside the morals of yesteryear. Scripture tells of those who will bring in destructive heresies and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their destructive ways; by reason the way of truth shall be evil spoken of (2 Peter 2:1-2).
America is at a crossroads and needs to decide which way it shall go. The Word of God does not change to blend in with the environment, or culture, but is everlasting to everlasting, and changes not. It is those who wants acceptance of their ways, and lifestyles, that would attempt to alter that Word to suit their own desires.
America was birthed in God. Its founding fathers had a Christian heritage and established this nation on godly precepts. This Christian heritage has been maintained until a relatively few short years ago. Much has transpired since that has placed America at a crossroads. If it continues on its present trend it can only lead to the judgmental side of God rather than continuation of His merciful hand and blessings.
In the past; God used men of God, to help set spiritual forces in motion that would preclude his judgment; if repentance came into focus. Even today, God has His Watchmen sounding the alarm, giving warning of that which is coming.
The answer to this dilemma is found in God's Word: "If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Is America at a crossroads, as other once godly nations, or will she make the necessary change to return to the God?
Casting a long shadow refers to a dominating and pervasive presence. Such is not a shallow commitment but that which is intended to be long-lasting.
The devil you say is what oftentimes one will respond with in responding to a certain situation.
Soaring like a eagle is for one to ascend higher than usual. Many have gone to great heights only to find, in the end, there was no profit for having done so.
