UNHEARD OF DEVASTATION
Unheard of devastation has become a reality in the day in which we are currently living. It is an "attention getter" for believers and non-believers alike. As each new day spins into reality there are yet more breath-taking events that transpire with anticipation as to where it is all headed? When one tunes into the news it grasps their attention as even more hair-raising events are reported. It is no longer confined to a singular sense but a multiple arena of a worldwide nature. A quake, one of the worse in recorded history, is reported to have shifted the Japan coast about 13 feet and knocked the Earth 6.5 inches off its axis. The Lord said that in the last days there would be devastation through great earthquakes, plagues, famines and signs from heaven and on the earth distress of nations, men's hearts failing them from fear and expectation of those things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken (Luke 11:25-26).
A Wicked and Perverse Generation
The speedy conclusion to a wicked and perverse generation is rapidly approaching unless repentance is sought. The peace and tranquility that once was enjoyed is no longer to be realized unless it is through that of a loving Savior (Jesus Christ) who is able to comfort and give His peace that the world cannot give. We use to live in a "comfort zone" but it is speedily being dismantled with unrest and devastation filtering into its place. The perplexities and cares of this life have become inescapable unless one finds the one who can say, "Peace, be still" with a great calm appearing in the mist of a troublesome storm.
Excitement in the Air
For the believer there should be excitement in the air, with the realization that Jesus' imminent return is near as one sees these events transpire that are shaking the world. There are those who will cry out "Party-time" rather than seeking the salvation of their souls. There may not be a realization that God is giving a last minute "searching of the soul" call to repentance.I believe that a time of repentance, a preclude to the coming of the Lord, is at hand. Will one listen to the beckoning call of God, or continue in their carefree, uncaring attitude, indulging in the sinfulness of mankind, lost without God, or His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ?
