Downfall of a nation can be attributed to losing sight of its former glory; which is the downside for allowing such to take place. I have viewed films depicting the takeover of nations, resulting in freedom being denied, and conformity to a new set of rules demanded.
I have read of many who refused to bow down to such atrocities and STAND for freedom rather than be ruled by others. We are presently seeing an attempt to undermine the true meaning of freedom; which America, and other nations, have fought for.
There are now those who are attempting to set the rule of the day. There is an ongoing battle being waged that will affect the outcome of a nation's status. Thank God that there are those who are attempting to oppose the many injustices being committed; but far too few.
An unknown author wrote: "Love America but love her wisely. Work hard to cure the faults, the mistakes under which she labors. Work to bring her closer to the ideal that is the real America. Do not leave her to be ruled by a few who make it their business and profit to rule. She is yours."
I do not know what circumstances promoted the utterance of these words but there must have been an ongoing dilemma that prompted such a response. America is the land of my birth, the nation I grew up in, the nation that I served in its military for 20 years, and it is sad to see such drastic changes in my homeland; in a relative short period of time.
When one sees an invasion in the land, of ungodliness, it breeds concern. However, there is encouragement, in God's Word, that bears out who is the true victor; even if it appears for the moment that one is losing traction in the spiritual warfare at hand.
Scripture reveals: The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him (Psalm 37:39-40).
Even though the ungodly are gaining a drastic foothold, in the affairs of men, it does not mean they will be victors; but eventually losers, for having defied God and His Word! Scripture tells us: The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18).
We are living in a time that many have been blinded to the truth. Ungodliness is flirting with the destiny of America, and other once godly nations; and unless dealt with can bring the downfall of a nation; if allowed to continue.
God's Word encourages one to lay aside all filthiness, and wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:21). The downfall of a nation, or individual, is in allowing sin to be the dominate factor.
Scripture reveals: The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). Whether America, and other once godly nations, stand or fall, depends upon whether they continue to reject God's Word! Will America be rebellious toward the very One to whom she owes her birthright? Will she live according to the precepts of God's Word or allow the ungodly to rule the day?
