"New Inroads Being Laid"

An editorial is often based on expressed opinions. We are living in a time when there are many expressed opinions on any given subject. For one to be objective in their editorial it would necessiate being uninfluenced by emotion, surmise, or personal prejudicies which far surpass by own ability since I am very much opinioned on certain issues based on the holy scriptures, the leading of God's Spirit, and my own observations.

I strive, through the help of the Lord, to bring a new, and fresh, editorial as given through the inspiration of God's Spirit. An editorial can be as the birth of a baby, eagerly awaited by the parents, when conceived in a timely manner.

New Inroads Being Laid

What prompts one to cast aside standards of yesteryear to embrace the reality of today? What is in the present day agenda that promotes a more acceptable trend than that of yesteryear? Is the cry for change of real necessity or is it because the people have become disillusioned, or perhaps miss-lead, into believing it is of necessity? As new inroads are laid how will it affect our status as "One Nation Under God?"
A change in the family composition is one of those new inroads being laid that offsets the traditional and biblical marriage concept. An alternate lifestyle is being promoted that is condemned in God's Word. America is rapidly allowing such an agenda, or change, to take effect with little to stem its growth. A judicial system is also helping to promote destruction of the very core this nation was founded upon. A form of believability has been ushered in to accommodate acceptability. As all these inroads come together they are promoting other than what this nation was originally founded upon.
Daniel Webster to celebrate the 200-year anniversary of the Pilgrim landing at Plymouth Rock declared: "Our ancestors established their system of government on morality and religious sentiment. Moral habits, they believed, cannot safely be trusted on any other foundation than religious principle, nor any government be secure which is not supported by moral habits."
A Wrong Road
C. S. Lewis said: "If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man. And I think if you look at the present state of the world, it is pretty plain that humanity has been making some big mistakes. We are on the wrong road. And if that is so, we must go back."
July 4th is the day we celebrate our independence as a nation. The term "One Nation Under God," is being threatened as these new inroads are being laid. A Christian, bearing all the credentials of living up to the Scriptures, can readily identify with the need of this nation, as well as others, to do a about-turn from a road that can only lead to self-destuct. Those who are attempting to lead this nation down a road of liberalism, new and disturbing lifestyles, believe they are of a right spirit with no need for a change in direction, this threatens the intent of our founding fathers.
A Navigational Error
Navigation is the science and technology of finding the position to direct the course of vessels and aircraft. As navigational instruments came into existence the accuracy in determing one's position and course would come within a few yards of the pre-determined destination. In ancient times, mariners navigated by the guidance of the sun and stars and landmarks along the coast. The Polynesians navigated with the help of guide stars, and this knowledge was passed from generation to generation.
The Bible, God's Holy Word, is instrumental in directing one's path towards a eternal home. Man has disallowed the benefits of such a navigational instrument through ignoring the prerequisite of its descriptive direction. He has chosen to pursue a course contrary to its established guidelines. The chartered course has been ignored with new inroads being laid that are in direct opposition to its stated course of travel.

Political Correctness
We live in a time that subscribes political correctness to appease the minority rather than majority. An unknown author wrote: "Love America! But love her wisely. Work hard to cure the faults, the mistakes under which she labors. Work to bring her closer to the ideal that is the real America. Do not leave her to be ruled by a few who make it their business and profit to rule. She is yours." A few placed in stategic positions can upset the apple cart to where it seemingly is impossible to rectify their destructive endeavors. America needs to renew its dependence upon the godly virtures of yesteryear and cast aside the seeds of deception that have been planted in the heart of man. One nation under God is the navigational course not to be shunned but rather embraced!
