Old Glory
Old Glory is in reference to our flag that represents our nation. I wonder if the term "Old Glory" has become even more fitting as descriptive of the past, rather than the present? We will soon enter into a new era of leadership with uncertainty and of the implications that it may bring. America needs to do a reversal; it has tarnished its "One nation under God" concept as it attempts to erase Him from its schools, government, and yes, even our religious holidays. Many have wetted their appeties on the sensual, lacking in morals, spiritual interests, and even are irreligious in their thinking.
True glory is in God, of whom this nation was founded upon. Scripture reveals the honor of God, His splendor, and brightness. The glorious moral attributes, and infinite perfections of God and Jesus as the brightness of the Father's glory. The term separation of church and state formulates an injustice to the completeness of God in all avenues of life. One cannot conveniently erase Him from any segment of life.
A Prayer for All
George Washington, our first President, kneeling in prayer at Valley Forge prayed: Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage, we humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Endow with the spirit of wisdom those in whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. No arrogance, no boastfulness, only humbleness of heart of one who was not afraid publicly to kneel before the Almighty God!
Treading on Dangerous Territory
We, as a nation, and that of others, are treading on dangerous territory in indulging of the vices that will bring God's judmental side. We need those who are not afraid to set the record straight; to reveal the judgment of God to that of a wicked and perverse nation, who in its ignorance is attempting to erase God from its forefront.
Man is carving out his own destiny without the fear of God being a factor. An unknown author wrote: Love America! But love her wisely. Word hard to cure the faults, the mistakes under which she labors. Work to bring her closer to the ideal that is the real America. Do not leave her to be ruled by a few who make it their business and profit to rule. She is yours. Another wrote of the things which will destroy us: politics without principle; pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without morality; science without humanity, and worship without sacrifice.
Pray for America
Pray for America, and other nations, to return to the God of their youth once again. That the eraser that has been used to erase His memory will be used no more, that the hand writing on the wall will be to gorify rather than destroy.
