Hope for the future is a positive thing when at times it seems as if all the world is crashing around you. Hope revitalizes the entire person. It is nourishment that helps sustain life.
Scripture reveals that a merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones (Proverbs 17:22). Hope is the necessity of life in regards to a healthy outlook. Such an outlook is through the door of faith in God and His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Scripture encourages one to hold fast the profession of faith without wavering (Hebrews 10:23). Faith is the realization of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). For without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
We are in the midst of a fight for right; concerning many ongoing evils in the world, and it will take the hand of the Almighty God to encourage hope for the future. Scripture reveals that the Lord brings the counsel of the heathen to nought: he makes the plans of the people of no effect (Psalm 33:10).
God had His hand on America since its beginning; but it has, in some areas, departed from His leadership. He will not forsake those whose hope lies in Him. As long as there is a breath of life; there is hope! America has gone into a cesspool of filth and degradation in some areas; but there is hope, as long as the faithful in the land are praying towards that end (2 Chronicles 7:14).
How many through faith are ready to claim victory for America? I see a hope that I had not seen for a long time; though there are still troublesome spots of evil attempting to wage war against that hope. There is a glimmer of hope in the vast darkness. It only takes a flicker of light to begin to dispel darkness!
Hope for the future does not come through staying comfortable in a safe haven; but in one's willingness to step out in faith! Hebrews, Chapter 11, is referred to as the "Faith Chapter." There are many illustrations of faith reaching out in this Chapter!
We are seeing persecution of Christians, even to the death, in many lands. These Martyrs of Christ gave their life, obtaining a good testimony through faith (Hebrews 11:39); and the hope of every Christian, of eternal life in Christ, through resurrection of life.
The future lies in how we, as Christians, saved through the precious blood of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, respond to our salvation through Him! Jesus said: "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its flavor, by what good shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out" (Matthew 5:13).
You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16). Being a light to the world describes the essential mission of every Christian to the world around them.
The believer in Christ, is the condition (or salt) to meet the world's needs and he has a mission (as light) to the world. His light is to clearly shine forth into the darkness of human depravity; that is very much in evidence in the world.
Hope for the future lies with each Christian allowing God's handiwork in his, or her life, to shine forth as a beacon of hope to others! Scripture reveals that the believer is not to be weary in well doing; for in due season he shall reap if he faints not (Galatians 6:9).
Allowance for sin is opening a door for the presence, and acceptance, of sinful behavior. Rather than expose the truth of God's Word that condemns sin; tolerance is weighed in.
