Insanity Unleashed
Insanity unleashed is a title reflective of a nation that is making decisions that will adversely affect its status as "One Nation Under God." Insanity indicates extreme folly or unreasonableness, something utterly unreasonable. This nation is making policies that ignore the precepts of God's most holy word. It has set itself above its Creator. Scripture reveals that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:21-22).
Living in Unprecedented Times
We are living in unprecedented times in which irrational decisions are being made. Established policies that have endured the test of time now are becoming obsolete as new directives are established that defy understanding except that they be termed insanity unleashed. Biblical beliefs have been sidestepped to enhance lifestyles that are contrary to the word of God defying any hurdle placed before them. Pandora's box of evils upon mankind; a prolific source of troubles, has been opened without fear of reproach. The clarity of God's Word is well established until one desires to leave its precepts and establish their own ill-conceived notions. The brevity of the situation is not in the soundness of God's Word but in man's desire to depart from its fundamental truths. Jebediah Morse wrote: Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present forms of government, and all the blessings, which flow from them, must fall with them.
The Pill of Deception
The pill of deception is available for one to swallow. There is evidence of a new permissiveness that has invaded our society and many of our churches; yet many cannot discern its clutching grip. In writing to Timothy, the apostle Paul said: Know this that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, unthankful, unholy, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. He then said: "from such turn away" (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
A Peace Giver
There is a peace giver, even in the midst of turmoil, and one who we can turn to in these troublesome times. But more importantly is the forgiveness of sins, washed away by His shed blood on the Cross of Calvary, the newness of life that comes when salvation enters into the picture, the putting off of the old man and putting on of the new man in Christ Jesus. It may appear that insanity has been unleashed, of things happening that we would not have thought possible a few short years ago, but the fulfilling of Scripture is happening at a rapid pace in these last days. Our Lord said that upon the earth would be distress of nations, with perplexity; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: and when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near (Luke 21:25-28).
