Insurgence of riotous times is in America and other once godly nations. There is a dire need of a reconciliation to God with a withdrawal from the evil deeds of man's vilest nature. There has been amply warnings since America's beginnings; Daniel Webster declared:
"Our ancestors established their system of government on morality and religious sentiment. Moral habits, they believed, cannot safely be trusted on any other foundation than religious principle, nor any government be secure which is not supported by moral habits.
If truth is not widely disseminated, error will be; if the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption, and darkness will reign without mitigation or end."
The Book of Proverbs reveals that whoso keeps the law is a discerning son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father (Proverbs 28:7). When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people groan (Proverbs 29:2).
Companion of riotous men in this text refers to one who has indulged in sensual appetite with others, bringing himself at last to disgrace, and shame to his father in being perceived as having allowed such to occur. Insurgence of riotous times can be seen in many of the destructive ways that are being entertained by those who have allowed their own appetites to be satisfied in an ungodly manner.
In America, we are seeing many distasteful acts being committed and its leadership loosing respect and effectiveness. We are seeing an insurgence of riotous times in the racism that is rising its ugly head. It is as that of a ingrown toe nail that hurts until dealt with. As a cancer that threatens life unless addressed.
Insurgence of riotous times denotes troubled areas, being unrestrained by morality, chaotic, epidemic, and the effects of a struggle that erupts into violence and is disruptive. Such is not only happening in America; but other once godly nations, who have placed God in the background rather than the forefront.
There is an insurgence of riotous times of fleshly desires as the morals of the land are pushed aside. Nudity, foul language, indecent dress, are but a few of the things being pushed to the hilt by the ungodly. In many Western nations, and elsewhere, modern day technology has made the feeding of fleshly desires readily available; as these devices are being taken over by the ungodly to spew forth the filth that pollutes the land.
Scripture reveals: The lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof; but he that does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2:16-17).
Many have jumped on the bandwagon of hatred towards one another; rather than national unity. Freedom of speech has become brutalized and hateful; far from the original concept envisioned. The media has helped nourish the growth of disunity; along with many well-known individuals, who support the ungodly issues of our time.
There is an ongoing desire by many to receive the hatred being promulgated without seeking out the truth. Social media has opened the door for such to be spewed out with little or no consequence for having done so. Modern technology; when properly applied is a good thing, but it can also be used by the ungodly to spread their agenda as well.
The apostle Paul, in addressing the church at Corinth, wrote: "Now in this that I declare to you; I praise you not, that you come together not for the better, but for the worse" (1 Corinthians 11:17). There was division and a "Coming Together" for the wrong purpose that darkened the reason for the gathering. Paul gave them warning as to the consequences; if such were to continue.
It is a sad state when we in America cannot see the "Coming Together" of our congressional bodies, all three bodies of government, towards what is good for America rather than personal gain or political status. Many such individuals have chosen to be vindictive in spirit rather than seek to unify for one common cause.
Insurgence of riotous times has preempted God who is the able to restore peace to a willing people. It will take God's restoration to restore order to any nation. Riotous times will continue until the Peace-giver is recognized by man.
Jesus said: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27). As one watches the news today; which is now far reaching through modern technology, one readily sees the turmoil and unrest in the world today. One can further see that the suggested solutions do not include God.
One country has included God in their foundational structure which is Hungry. He use to be the solid foundation of many nations; including America, until He began to be edged out by the ungodliness of man. Such has not gone unnoticed by God. Scripture reveals: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
Insurgence of riotous times should bring one closer to Christ knowing that such times is but the fulfilling of prophecy. Jesus revealed a time when men's hearts will fail them from fear, and expectation of things which are coming on the earth (Luke 21:26-28).
When one absorbs the news of our day; it does not paint a pretty picture, only of the troublesome times that exist worldwide. Even in the mist of troublesome times, a lifeline has been thrown out by God to those who are perishing.
Scripture reveals: God sent not his Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:17-18).
