NAME OF THE GAME

The name of the game in our modern day society is to assault one's intended victim verbally; whether there be any truth in the verbal ammunition used or not.  It is to blemish the character of one's respectability or reliability if they do not line up with the attacker's desired agenda.

There is a sour note in the war with words that is being played; especially in the political arena of America politics.  The liberal media throws forth words and phrases that attempt to demean any individual they are opposing.  One can readily tell which direction the liberal media is going by its invited guests.

The liberal media is no longer unbiased in their reporting; and oftentimes it is as if there is a vindictive spirit about them.  They will pounce on their victim;  as that of a bloodhound who never gives up, unless the trail grows cold.  But until that happens one can hear the increased baying as it nears its prey.

NAME OF THE GAME
SPEAKING EVIL OF DIGNITARIES

The apostle Peter spoke of those who walked after the flesh, according to their own desires, and despised government.  They were presumptuous and self-willed, and not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries (2 Peter 2:1).  He goes on to describe them as spots and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving (2 Peter 2:13).

He was speaking of false teachers that spoke evil of the things that they understand not; who would perish in their own corruption (2 Peter 2:12).  In America, and elsewhere, the name of the game; perhaps unknowingly, fulfills this descriptive narrative.  It happens through the liberal media, those belonging to think tanks, those individuals who have gained fame such as sports figures, Hollywood, etc.

A REFRESHER COURSE
IN GOD'S WORD

Many having departed from the ways the Lord, could use a refresher course in God's Word (Hebrew 5:12).  The Book of Psalms speaks of the wicked and the pride of his countenance; his mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression (10:7).  The wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may secretly shoot at the upright in heart (11:2).

The Book of Proverbs is like a two-sided coin with a different message on each side; such as:  Hatred stirs up strife; but love covers all sins (10:12).  The tongue of the just is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth (10:20).  A talebearer reveals secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter (11:13).  Lying lips are abomination to the Lord; but they that deal truthfully are his delight (12:22).

EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TIMES

God's Word reveals that one is to make straight paths for your feet....to pursue peace with all men (Hebrews 12:13-14).  We are living in times that are extremely difficult for one bearing the message of love; of forgiveness, of a willingness to pray for others, rather than demean them.

Such requires a new life in Christ that precludes one's walking in the vanity of their own mind; having their understanding darkened (Ephesians 4:17-18).  There are those who have become calloused and insensitive to moral right and wrong.  Scripture reveals that there is a way which seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12).

A NEW ERA IN TIME

The name of the game is changed when one puts on Christ.  Scripture reveals that the new man in Christ; no longer allows corrupt communication to proceed out of one's mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.  No bitterness, wrath, or anger.  That one put away evil speaking and malice; and be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:29-32).

What a recipe for a new era in time.  If all possessed such characteristics; the concept of a godly nation would rise up; instead of a corrupt and godliness society!  Scripture reveals that one is to not even have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove (or expose) them (Ephesians 5:3-11).

PEACE ON EARTH

GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST AND ON EARTH PEACE AND GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN (LUKE 2:14)

Those words were uttered at the birth of Christ and are most remembered at Christmas time; when Christian's honor His birth.  The name of the game today needs the elevation of those words into daily lives; not the hate and dissent being projected by the society in which we live!
