The flame of racism can be fueled by the very ones who are seeking to curb it.  Does one help to alleviate the cause or promote the cause by their actions?  Is the media helping to stir up what is happening even before the facts are made known?  Are there those who infuse the situation by adding their well-known names in support of these "supposed injustices" in the land?

Scripture tells us: If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men.  Avenge not yourselves but rather give place to wrath.  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:18-21).  Let us walk properly; not in rioting...not in strife (Romans 13:13).

George Washington, America's first president, kneeling in prayer, at Valley Forge prayed: "Almighty God, save us from violence, discord and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way.  Fashion into one united people the multitude brought out of many kindreds and tongues."  As we see unrest, the fueling of the flame of racism, it brings a blemish on the "one united people concept."

Jesus said: "If a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.  And If a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand" (Mark 3:24-25).  We are seeing division in many areas; because  the ungodly have taken God out of the equation, which hampers a peacefully co-existence with one another.

When the godly element is removed; the ungodly, began to dismantle a peaceful co-existence.  Division and strife, which are condemned in God's Word, takes root with unrest being the end result.  Scripture tells one to enter not in the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  Avoid it, do not travel on it, and turn from it.  For some eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence (Proverbs 4:10-27).

Fueling the flame of discord incenses the people.  Such action may, and often does, promote violence.  What may start out as a peaceful demonstration can easily escalate.   America's constitution supports peaceful methods of expressing one's self as long as such does not infringe on another's freedom.  Fueling the flame of discord is beneficial to no one.

There is much unrest in the world today, not only because of racism, but in many other areas where the people has become dissatisfied, unruly, and bitterly opposed to certain issues.

There is a peace-giver who is able to calm the storms of life (Mark 4:39).  One can experience such calm; instead of trouble and turmoil.  However, before such can come into focus one must know the peace-giver, who is the Lord Jesus Christ (the Son of God), and learn to trust in Him and God's Word.
