FALL OF ROMAN EMPIRE

The fall of the Roman Empire was due to a number of reasons but in the end it was stripped of its wealth and glory. The fall came due to a decline in morals and values, public health, political corruption, unemployment, inflation, and urban decay. Each one inter-weaved with the other. These are but some of the costly mistakes that resulted in its fall. A lack of morals was testified to by there being 32,000 prostitutes in Rome alone. Her emperors, like Nero were noted for wasting money on lavish parties. Her most popular amusement was watching the gladiator combats in the Colosseum. Alcohol use increased in her demoralized state. Gaiety, and any form of amusement entertaining to the mind, was acceptable. The appeasement of the flesh was sought after with no restrain imposed.
A Parallel of Today
As one reads of the reasons of the fall of the Roman Empire they can readily see a parallel to what is happening in America, and other nations, today. The collapse resulted with its money not being of any worth. What are we seeing happening today, as many nations are on the verge of bankruptcy, unable to pay their massive debts that have been incurred, through luxuries living and borrowing? One might wonder what this has to do with God's Word. How does this information focus on our current problem? One can learn from history, as well as through God's Word, all that has surfaced in the past, and what can transpire in the future, if one does not take them to heart.
A Warning Had Been Given
If a fall, God-forbid, comes to America, or any other nation, as that of the Roman Empire, and that great city Babylon spoken of in God's Word (Revelations 18:17-19), it will not be because they had no warning. I feel confident that there were some in the Roman Empire that seen its coming fall, if change did not take place. I am confident that there were even those who had warned of such possibilities but their warnings went unheeded.
Dream Captivated and Prompted This Message
A dream captivated the demise and fall of the Roman Empire with its deterioration coming from within. A scripture came to mind after I woke from the dream: If a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand (Mark 3:24). This nation, as well as others, are in a divided state of mind that is bringing unrest and discontentment. Some are seeking to undermine anything that represents Christianity, the God of Creation, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be no peace without God and Jesus Christ, His Son. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. He spoke of the coming Comforter, that of God's Spirit, who will abide from within, bringing a peace that far surpasses the perplexities of this life.
