The stealing of the heart is the intent of many who seek after gain. We are seeing this in the political arena as well as life in general. In the Bible the heart is regarded as being the seat of the intellect, the feelings, and the will.
The heart also implies affection, as "I have you in my heart" (Psalm 63:10). The heart can also refer to the nature of fallen man such as "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked" (Jeremiah 17:9).
The stealing of the heart is mentioned in the Old Testament when Absalom, King David's son, revolted against him, seeking to take away his throne. Scripture reveals that in this attempt he "stole the hearts of the men of Israel" (2 Samuel 15:6).
Absalom was blessed with a handsome appearance and a winsome personality, and able, through his cunning, to achieve the desired results. And his sinister ends could easily go undetected. He gained the affections of the people, robbing his father of them, to whom their affections rightly belonged.
Scripture reveals warns about the trickery of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive (Ephesians 4:14). Those who do so are attempting to capture one's heart through deceit and cunning methods.
We live in a world of what is now titled "fake news" which attempts to deceive one into believing a lie rather than search out the truth. Many are being taken in by this allusion; snatching the bait being offered, with wholehearted consumption.
Scripture tells of those who have strayed away concerning the truth (2 Timothy 2:18). We are seeing an abundance of this as man goes about establishing his own desired agenda. Such agenda includes same sex marriage; adopted in America; and elsewhere (and recently in Taiwan), which is an affront to biblical marriage ordained by God (Genesis 2:21-24).
Homosexuality, which is condemned in God's Word (Romans 1:25-27); is being embraced worldwide by many nations. The attempt to change the sex identity of one's birth is spewing forth its hideous nature as well. Such activity is brought on by the willingness to believe a lie; the stealing away of the heart, rather than believing the truth.
Scripture reveals that in the end times all that will be godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. That evil men and seducers (those that would attempt to steal away the heart) shall grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:12-13).
We are seeing this happening in our present day culture as the evilness of man escalates rather than diminishes. Compromise and tolerance have helped put forth acceptance of the lies being promulgated.
Many have become confused even of their own identity. It was reported that one person had two sets of ID's; male and female, so that whichever person they decided to be on a particular day they could be. Another person did not want to be known as either gender; male or female, and a judge approved it!
This world has indeed gone astray because of its forsaking the Unadulterated Word of God; and failure of being preached to its fullness. The salvation message is even more needful in the hour in which we live because there are many attempting to steal the heart towards the sinful nature of man. Jesus said:
"This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil"
Timeless messages that are seemingly endless in value.
God's watchman are sounding the alarm, revealing the very nature of God's Word, warning of impending judgment unless repentance is sought, as in the case of Nineveh.
A vision from God importance is mentioned In the Book of Proverbs: Where there is no vision the people perish.
It is not time to vacate a life that has been out of tune to God's Word and to "tune in" to "What Thus Saith the Lord." Hatred and mistrust is growing out of control.
Awaken to the truth is to come to a spiritual understanding of God's desire for mankind.
