Loss Values

Loss values are very much prevalent in our society, in our churches, and lifestyle. I believe we have reaped what has been sown in regards to loss values. We are increasingly accepting the previously unacceptable as simply "changing times." A movie entitled "Time Changer" clearly defines that which I am speaking of in this message. It reveals the nature of the society of yesteryear with a glimpse into our present time and the loss that has taken place.

Our future generation, the youth of our day, has not had the values of yesteryear instilled in them, only acceptance as to what is modeled before them today. The sad fact is that many who were once accustomed to yesteryear have swallowed the pill of deception and latched onto the previously unacceptable. The movie "Time Changer" reflects this change in attitude and very amply portrays the end result.

Is the Church Disturbed Anymore?

In a Sunday School commentary are found these words: Things that once would have shocked Christians are now commonplace. There is much that does not disturb the church like it once did. Many Christians have been lulled into believing that all is well. Where is the moral outrage necessary to petition God for a new reformation or another great awakening?

Our nation is suffering from the corrosive immoral breath of the 21st century. The secularism, humanism, materialism, liberalism, and commercialism of our day have devastated our resources of security. The home, once the primary place of stability, has become a battleground. The church has forfeited its power because of worldliness.

Compromising God Given Convictions

Does one, as a child of God, still possess the convictions of yesteryear, or have they allowed them to be seeded over by the ways of the world? Has one compromised God given convictions by allowing them to be sweep aside because of the influence of others?

One does not have to bear the marks of loss values if they remain faithful to the Word of God. One is to hold fast to the truths of God's Word regardless of how others may attempt to deter them from that truth. It is not they who will give account for one's actions but we are the one who will give account for our own actions.
