VIOLATION OF ONE'S Conscience

The violation of one's conscience is taking place on a regular basis in the hour in which we live. The term violation infers infringement, transgression, and an act of irreverence or desecration. We are seeing social injustices taking place at an alarming rate that infringes on one's religious freedom, that violates one's conscience to the place where a decision has to be made as to stand for the truth of God's Word or allow others to infringe on that Word.

We are living in a time when just taking a neutral stand will no longer suffice for if one's voice is not heard the enemy of one's soul will come in and take away that which is rightfully ours. We are seeing countries that were once in a godly nation status who are now allowing the deterioration of such a concept to come to fruition. We are seeing little reproach of the various lifestyles that have manifested themselves into our way of life. There is a day of reckoning, according to God's Word, but in the meanwhile one is not to be taken in by these deceptive practices.

Cost Involved When Trap Is Baited

Scripture tells us that the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of devils. Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

One becomes scarred in their conscience, immune to the truth of God's Word, choosing acceptance of the deceit placed before them, as that of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, who chose to ignore the cost involved because the bait presented was of a stronger influence than adherence to God's Word.

Inner Voice of One's Conscience

How much different would Adam and Eve's life had been had they not been disobedient to God's commandment to leave a particular tree alone, not even to look upon it? How much different would our life have been had we listened to the inner voice of one's conscience rather than choosing to ignore its warning of acceptance of certain things?

Adam and Eve loved God but still failed to adhere to His Word when deception played into focus. I wonder if there was any wrestling of the conscience prior to the decision being made to disregard God's commandment? I am sure there was because when the serpent brought deception into play Eve attempted to justify while the serpent countered with the manipulation of God's Word.

It is extremely important to pay heed to a God-given conscience when an attempt to violate that conscience comes into focus? Now is the time to stand for the truths of God's Word, allow our God-given conscience to rule, rather than one's own desires.

Other Gods Fostered Into Our National Concept

We have allowed many gods to be fostered into our national concept, even to the acceptance of religions whose god is not God. God-given consciences no longer dedicate the course America is to pursue but rather that of chosen lifestyles. The killing of the unborn prevails, the biblical concept of marriage is threatened, and the homosexual agenda, that flourished in Sodom, is being pushed towards acceptance.

When the apostle Paul was at Athens, in Rome, his spirit was provoked within when he saw the city given over to idolatry. He did not leave it in such a condition; he did not remain silent, but begin to tell them of the "Unknown God" whom they worshiped. When there are those who would "violate one's conscience" towards a lifestyle in opposition to God's Word, one needs not to remain silent but speak the truth of God's Word.
