Withdrawal from God is a retraction of a previously held position. It is a retreat and abandonment of previously gained ground. A recent poll in England indicated that more than half of that country are no longer believers; among the 18 to 24 category the percentage is 71.
They have alienated themselves from any belief in God. A mighty revival Spirit once flourished in England; America, and many other countries which were receptive towards receiving the Word of God.
God mightily bless those countries. When troublesome times came they looked to God as the source of their deliverance; and were delivered! They bathed in His blessings being showered upon them. Where are those blessings now? How much have those countries departed from their former greatness in God? What have they replaced Him with? Is it became the influx of ungodliness has become overwhelmingly in acceptance?
Withdrawal from God in America has been obvious. Legalizing abortion of demand; taking prayer out of our public schools; allowing homosexuality to reign in the land; legalizing same-sex marriage, and the transgender movement which scoffs at the ideal of a God-given gender identity.
Withdrawal from God has opened the door for the immorality that has sweep across this nation; with the term common decency becoming a mockery; and ungodly lifestyles being promoted beyond human decency.
Sex is openly displayed with the revealing of the flesh for all to see. The internet, television, and many other sources openly reveal nudity. Foul language has become a norm with the vilest words being utilized; with little or no censure. Many have become addicted to pornography; alcohol, drugs, etc., seeking more gratification of the same.
America, and other once godly nations, are presently absent of great spiritual revivals in the land; which previously brought many to God, rather than seeing a withdrawal from God. Those men who God used to bring such revivals have since passed on; with no replacement of the same magnitude as previously existed.
A possible explanation is given in a prophecy in 1965: "When I visit My people in mighty revival power, it is to prepare them for the darkness ahead. With the glory shall come great darkness, for the glory is to prepare My people for the darkness, I will enable My people to go though because of the visitation of My Spirit.
In the last days shall come seducing spirits that shall turn many of My anointed ones away. Many shall fall through divers lusts and because of sin abounding. But if you will see Me diligently, I will put My spirit within you. When one shall turn to the right hand or the left you shall not turn with them, but keep your eyes wholly on the Lord.
After I have visited My people, the way shall become more and more narrow, and fewer shall walk therein. But be not deceived, the ways of righteousness are My ways. For though Satan becomes as an angel of light hearken not to him; for those who perform miracles and speak not righteousness are not of Me.
I warn you with great intensity that I am going to judge My house and have a church without spot or wrinkle when I come. I desire to open your eyes and give you spiritual understanding, that you may not be deceived but may walk with uprightness of heart toward Me, loving righteousness and hating every evil way."
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14):
"But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; then will I pluck you up by the roots out of my land which I have given you; and will cast you out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all nations" (2 Chronicles 7:15-22).
While this promise was originally given to King Solomon regarding the people of Israel, it is certainly applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith. These verses express God's willingness to hear the prayers of a repentant people.
God's Word reveals that He is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). That he so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (the Lord Jesus Christ). That whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). That God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:17).
He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:18). These verses do not speak not of a withdrawal from God but a commitment to Jesus Christ, as one's Lord and Savior! There is a loving Father, and Son, who eagerly await our embrace (Revelation 3:20).
