Culture war of today is an ongoing process to eliminate or control any force of opposition with Christianity becoming a target in the struggle of control and domination on a global scale. It was noted that any country grounded in Christian values cannot be overthrown until those roots are cut (Antonio Gramsci).
The church is under attack to offset any influence that is a threat to Socialism, Marxism, both cousins of Communism, whose agenda dominates the culture war of today. It was noted that to change prevailing culture a long march through the institutions is necessary. Socialism is the religion that must overcome Christianity.
In the New World Order, socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society (Antonio Gramsci). The grass roots of this effort goes a long way back into history but is now coming to fruition under the disguise of being beneficial to society!
The church has entered into a new identity with a social gospel that entails entertainment of a worldly nature; a feel good religion that does little or nothing to offset sinful lifestyles, with the intermixing of some truths of God’s Word, to facilitate acceptance! As this new breed of Christianity arises it ushers our the grass roots that originated with those who were nurtured on the old time teaching, preaching, and adherence to God’s Word!
Where is the sounding of the alarm, as in the days of old, when men of God proclaimed the truths of God’s Word and allowed the movement of God’s Spirit to convict and bring to fruition those added to the church? Can entertainment of a worldly nature, in the culture war of today, replace the old time holiness concept established in God’s Word? Has the church become more dependent on the world than God’s Word?
Sometime prior to his death, General Booth of the Salvation army, uttered this significant prophecy: I consider that the chief dangers that confront the coming century will be Religion without the Holy Ghost; Christianity without Christ; Forgiveness without regeneration; Morality without God; and Heaven without Hell.
Is the culture war of today bringing those words to fruition? Is the church bearing characteristics of the world and enslaved to its culture? A Christian use to be identified by his or her mannerism but today there is little difference between the world and the church. When the church comes back to the basics so will the world fall under its influence again!
The Apostle Peter wrote: The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear (1 Peter 4:17-18)? The church should be in the lead towards the fulfillment of God’s Word, setting an example for the world, but is it in the culture war of today?
Scripture admonishes the believer to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable (rational) service. And be not conformed to this world (culture war of today); but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:1-2). It was noted that “be not conformed” is to resist being poured into the mold of present day thinking, value systems, and conduct of this world!
The culture war of today involves not only the church but society as a whole. Influence is arising through such venues as Critical Race Theory (CRT), the Great Reset Plan instituted by the World Economic Forum; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Transformation (conformity with rules or standards imposed); to name but a few, that would upset the normality of life. Included in the culture war of today is a drive to maintain legalized abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and transgenderism as a way of life, though condemned in God’s Word.
Goals include: Discredit family as an institution; control of the schools to use as tools for promoting ungodly agenda; break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography in books, magazines, motion pictures, and TV; infiltrate the press, gain control of key positions in government, radio, TV, and motion pictures; infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion.
It was noted that as long as there are sovereign nations possessing great power war is enhanced (Albert Einstein). The cultural war of today embraces many global powers seeking to dominate and control on a global basis; as in the case of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.
Nations, previously under the influence of God, have allowed God's blessings to diminish promoting ungodliness that was formerly rejected. The prophet Hosea, in speaking the words of the Lord, said: They have sown the wind (ungodliness), and they shall reap the whirlwind (judgment) (Hosea 8:7).
The Psalmist David wrote: The words of his (the deceitful) mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords (Psalm 55:21). Conflict is arising from nations who are battling from within; no longer in unity as before, with difficulty in detecting the truth. Jesus said: Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand (Matthew 12:25).
Through modern day communication we see, in the culture war of today, many nations in conflict with the battle taking place from within rather than without! Scripture reveals: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to swell together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Lack thereof could readily see the downfall of nations wherein freedom once reigned, unity prevailed, and allegiance to God was an undeniable fact!
It was noted: There would be no war in a God-directed world (Admiral Richard E. Byrd). The future of civilization is absolutely dependent upon finding some way of resolving international differences without resorting to war (Dwight D. Eisenhower). Mankind must put an end to war or war will but an end to mankind (John F. Kennedy). War is a poor chisel to carve out tomorrows (Martin Luther King).
War is a cruel thing, separates and destroy families and friends, marring the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world by filling our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors (Robert E. Lee). All reminders of what God intended for mankind; not what the world is allowing, through the culture war of today, to offset the liberties God intended for mankind!
The culture war of today, may be disturbing to the soul, but does not bring one into captivity as long as the Word of God abides within the heart of man. There is an ongoing war of deceit that would draw one into its embrace; if allowed, which means one needs to receive the engrafted (pure) Word of God to its fullness!
The Apostle Paul told Timothy, a young evangelist, to study (be diligent) to show (present) yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). In the culture war of today it behooves one to take God’s Word to heart; apply it to one’s life, that they not be deceived!
I witness a monarch butterfly that had been caught in the snare of a spider’s web; leaned over and freed it from its entrapment, for the spider had not yet began its work and it flew up “freed!” It was a beautiful sight to behold, and that is what God wants to see in His people, freed from the temptations that so readily ensnare them in our modern day culture.
The ugliness of what the spider was going to do to such a beautiful butterfly was undone by a moment of kindness and such is the beauty of salvation that frees one from the ugliness of a sinful life into the beauty of holiness. Scripture reveals: Being made free from sin, we become servants to God, have our fruit unto holiness; and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22).
It was noted that we live in a culture that is increasingly hostile to God with many having dismissed God from their lives. No individual, and no nation, will be good without God. Nations ancient and modern have been wicked and cruel, and have inflicted unspeakable misery on humankind because they rejected the one true living God. The culture war of today; which attempts to eliminate God out of the picture, is in actuality ushering in the judgment of God!
Scripture tells us: The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). It was noted “wrath” is not the revelation of a future judgment of God but a present revelation that parallels the present revelation of God’s righteousness. Ungodliness is failure in the religious realm; unrighteousness is failure in the moral sphere of injustice toward man.
The Psalmist David wrote: Though a host (many) should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident (Psalm 27:3).
We are in a culture war of today that would seek to overpower but the Apostle Paul revealed: The weapons of our (the believers) warfare are not carnal (of human standards) but mighty through God (2 Corinthians 10:4). Nations, and individuals, need to look to the true source of deliverance; that of a heavenly father (God) and the Lord Jesus Christ!
