Diversity of cultures has plagued mankind since the conflict of Cain against his brother; who in a fit of rage murdered Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep; Cain a tiller of the ground. Both presented an offering to the Lord; Abel's accepted by God, Cain's rejected because it was not given in accordance with that which was required of the Lord.
Controversy came forth; resulting in the taking of a life, beginning a long history of human violence and man's inhumanity to his fellowman. There was a war waged between good and evil that started on that fateful day. We are seeing inhumanity play into the picture, in many lands, due to diversity of cultures bringing division, rather than unity.
God gave Cain an opportunity to give the offering, saying: If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not well sin lies at the door. Rejection of that offer ended in judgment. Scripture reveals: When you (or Cain) till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield to you her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shall you be in the earth (Genesis 4:12).
There is a cultural drift today towards ungodliness that has not gone unnoticed by God! Scripture reveals: The Lord looks from heaven; he beholds all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth (Psalm 33:13-14).
Just as God took notice in the Pre-flood days of Noah and brought destruction on all the inhabitants of the earth, with the exception of Noah and his family, so He takes notice today. Scripture reveals: And God saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (or all the day). And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart (Genesis 6:5-6).
And God said to Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me, and the earth is filled with violence through them (the inhabitants of the earth); and I will destroy them with the earth (Genesis 6:13). Scripture reveals: God spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:5).
Scripture reveals that God will no more destroy the earth with a flood, as in the days of Noah, by placing the rainbow in the sky as a reminder of that promise! Man has taken that same symbol of God's mercy and grace (the colors of the rainbow) as their standard to openly proclaim, without reservation or shame, their Sodom and Gomorrah activities!
Diversity of cultures has opened the door for such ungodly activities to come into existence and with PRIDE boldly proclaim what is condemned in God's Word, without reservation or shame. The prophet Jeremiah, in speaking the words of the Lord, said: Were they ashamed when they had committed abominations?
No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush; therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit (or punish) them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 6:15).
A Sunday school commentary noted: God, having power and authority to create, also has power and authority to destroy that which He creates. This was shown by the Flood. When humans become so evil, that every thought and imagination of the human mind, and heart was only evil continually, God decided to destroy from the earth the humans He had created.
To give life and take away life are both within God's authority. This expounds on the fact that diversity of cultures can play a significant role in the response of God; in His time, even towards corrective measures being taken, or His judgment being unleashed.
The term culture involves the knowledge and values shared by a society. The ungodliness of man is no longer hidden in the closet but proudly proclaimed by many renown individuals; often in positions of authority to further spread their agenda.
Another definition of culture is the attitudes and behavior that are shared by a particular social group. This does not remain in that social group alone; but is being programmed to its furtherance through educating the youth towards acceptance.
Television programming, the Internet, and other forms of dissemination are being peppered with inducement towards acceptance. Diversity of cultures; and their acceptance, is further enhanced by governmental support; with laws and rulings made to accommodate its growth.
Another definition of culture is the act or means employed towards training, disciplining, and refining the moral nature of man; with results of such being physical improvement, enlightenment, and discipline acquired by mental and moral training.
This is undertaken by reeducation meant to control the masses towards cultural changes enhanced by a controlling party. Diversity of cultures is downplayed to a single contributor, or ideal, rather than many; with the will of the people no longer a factor, as that of a puppet being controlled by a puppeteer.
The Apostle Paul wrote: Mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them (Romans 16:17). Diversity of cultures; especially of an ungodly nature, is not a good thing; towards the one being swayed towards acceptance. The Apostle Paul did not want the truth to be undermined, marred, or impaired.
There are those today who would pervert the truth of the Gospel (a social gospel) to promote their own desired lifestyles, leaving out such terms as righteousness, holiness, and sanctification (or being set apart unto God). Apostle Paul said to mark them and avoid them!
The Apostle Paul wrote: I marvel that you are so soon removed (or turning away) from him that called you to the grace of Christ, to another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would (or want to) pervert the gospel of Christ (Galatians 1:6-7).
The church, in many Western nations, has allowed diversity of cultures to override the truths of God's Word. It has embraced worldliness; and cultures that are condemned in God's Word, and if one is not learned in the Word of God, they can be easily deceived.
In the days of the prophet Ezra, it was noted: The people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building (Ezra 4:4). There was a commitment before them but there were those who attempted to dissuade them, often threatening, and endeavored to hinder them.
In the days of Joshua, the people were likewise deterred from their commitment to God, worshiping the gods their fathers had served, and the gods of the Amorites in whose land they dwelt. The people had got caught up in a diversity of cultures; rather than worshiping and honoring God. Joshua attempted to restore them back to God, in saying: As for me, and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).
That commitment needs to be reestablished, in many lands, because of diversity of cultures being offered! Tolerance has been introduced towards ungodly cultures with acceptance being the norm of the day. Failure to preach the Unadulterated Word of God has been instrumental towards acceptance; with much that does not line up in God's Word.
A legendary evangelist of the first Great Awakening, Charles G. Finney stated: If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours to a great degree. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of Justice, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall way, the pulpit is responsible for it. Let us not ignore this fact; but let us lay it to heart, and wake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation.
The concept of "One Nation Under God" and "In God We Trust" is losing its credibility because of what is being allowed to exist with a diversity of cultures that outweighs and undermines such words of honor.
There is an inroad towards destruction being laid; helping usher in that which is revealed in God's Word: Whereby the world that then was (the Pre-flood days of Noah), being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved to fire against (or until) the day of judgment and perdition (or destruction) of ungodly men (2 Peter 2:6-7).
Scripture reveals: The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation (or conduct) and godliness (2 Peter 3:9-11).
Nevertheless we (the believer in Christ), according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwell righteousness (2 Peter 3:13). Seeing that you know these things before (or before hand), beware lest you also, being lead away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:17).
Once I seen a butterfly that had been caught in a spider's web. I leaned over and freed it from its entrapment, for the spider had not yet began its work, and it flew up "freed" from being ensnared in the web. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and that is what God wants to see in His people, freed from the temptations that so readily ensnare them with the diversity of cultures that appeal to many; but nevertheless detrimental towards salvation of the soul.
The ugliness of what the spider was going to do was undone by a moment of kindness and such is the beauty of salvation through Christ that frees us from the ugliness of a sin-filled life into the beauty of holiness. Scripture reveals: Being made free from sin, we become servants to God, having our fruit unto holiness; and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22).
Diversity of cultures (especially ungodly cultures) can distract a person from the most important decision in their entire life; whether to accept God's greatest gift to mankind (the Lord Jesus Christ), or reject that invitation. God's Word speaks both of Heaven and Hell; one's final destiny hinges on making the right decision!
