Forces of darkness is a catalyst toward the goal of defusing the light of the Gospel by attempting to undermine its influence on mankind.  There are forces at work who seek to penetrate the hearts and minds of those who are ignorant towards God's Word; through acceptance of the ungodliness that has been allowed to infiltrate the land.

The prophet Isaiah foretold a time when one would call evil good and good evil; put darkness for light and light for darkness; bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Those who would be wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight!  Which would justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him (Isaiah 5:20-23).

Many nations, including America, promotes abortion on demand; homosexuality openly flaunted before all; the inclusion of same-sex marriage, and the transgender movement,  are abominations being committed with complete disregard to the Word of God.

The forces of darkness of this world are promoting the reign of filth and degradation; which is being ushered in at a fast pace with little or no restraint.  As America, and other once godly nations, pursue the destiny of the ungodly; it will take a mighty revival Spirit to break the yoke of bondage of sinful lifestyles being promoted, and accepted, in our modern day culture.

The apostle Paul stated:  "If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world (or Satan) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

Many nations, including America, have allowed the forces of darkness to prevail in the land; rather than stand for the righteousness of God.  Satan is rapidly gaining control of the world system by so controlling those in darkness that he effectively shields them from the light of the Gospel!

Scripture reveals that the condemnation is that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (John 3:20).  The gospel of Christ shined brightly in the earlier time of many nations; until the forces of darkness began to influence the morality of man through induction of ungodly ways.

Darkness denotes absence of moral or spiritual values; an unenlightened state of ignorance or error.  Because of darkness; light is obscure and not easily perceived; a darkness of ignorance, dimness of discernment, and obscurity of reasoning.

Scriptures tells of the characteristics of these forces of darkness which walk after the flesh, in the lust of uncleanness:  Presumptuous are they, and self-willed.  They speak evil of the things that they understand not; who shall utterly perish in their own corruption.  They have forsaken the right way and are going astray.

They are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the gloom of darkness is reserved forever (2 Peter 2:10-16).  Later comes a warning:  "Beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness" (2 Peter 3:17).

The prophet Joel, in speaking the words of the Lord, cried out:  "Blow you the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the earth tremble: for the day of the Lord comes, for it is nigh at hand; a day of darkness and of  gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness"  (Joel 2:1-2).

The trumpet; in this instance, was used to alarm the people towards the seriousness of the crisis at hand.  There is a great need today; to sound the alarm, and proclaim the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14:

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

This promise was originally given to King Solomon regarding the people of Israel, but is applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith.  Scripture reveals that God is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9)!
