The awakening hour comes into focus when the consciousness of people is stirred; when the reality of what one is facing is realized. It is as when the 9/11 devastation came onto the American scene; an awakening of national consciousness came into focus uniting the people towards the need of the nation at the time.
There is now a dire need for a revival of national unity in God; with more attention towards religious matters, that has been pushed aside to accommodate unhealthy lifestyles. There is an attempt to alter the godly teaching of our youth to endorse these lifestyles that are condemned in God's Word.
Scripture reveals that it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, nor in strife and envying. But put on the Lord Jesus, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof (Romans 13:11-14).
The awakening hour is when one realizes the change that takes place upon conversion; a new life in Christ which enables the believer to live a righteous life. The body that had been an instrument of sin is presented to God as a channel through which the righteousness of God flows. A realization that one is the representative of Christ in a sin-ridden world; and a light to those around them.
The awakening hour needs to be realized on a national level; of any nation that has failed to stand for the truths of God's Word by allowed abominations to enter in and take hold. When God's Word is blasphemed by the ignorance of men; and fleshly desires instituted.
When darkness floods the land rather than the glorious gospel of Christ. When nations began to experience corrective judgments rather than spiritual blessings. When the ungodliness of man comes into focus; as before the Flood in Noah's day (2 Peter 2:5), and the destruction of Sodom in Lot's day (2 Peter 2:6-7).
When man began to elevate himself above God; as in the case of the building of the tower to reach unto heaven, in man's own strength Genesis 11:4-7). Became of this God confounded the language of man to undo what the wickedness of man intended.
The awakening hour in any life is when one's conscience is awakened to the truth of God's Word; with the Spirit of God drawing one to repentance from a sin-filled life, towards a resurrected life in Christ. When one is in the midst of darkness it takes but a little glimmer of light to began to drive away that darkness.
That glimmer of light is through the knowledge of the gospel. That the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). That being made free from sin, we become the servants to God, and have our fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22).
The sinful nature of man has increased rather than decreased. The allowance for sin is being pampered by laws and rulings being instituted to uphold the sinfulness of man. America, and other once godly nations, are being seeded in unrighteousness; rather than the righteousness of God.
The awakening hour will be with the ushering in of the godliness of man once again through receiving God's Word. When the ungodliness that has been allowed will be rejected with no leeway for its continuation. When realization comes into focus what one has been entertained with has been of a deceptive nature; one's need for a Savior, in the personage of Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
