By Roy Burner - Minister of the Gospel

Transition to life involves passing from one place to the next.  It is a transition that involves the provisions that God instituted to make it so.  Without God having instituted conception between one man and one woman such would not have been possible in the initial transition to life.

Scripture reveals: And Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord (Genesis 4:1).  Eve was conveying the fact that she had acquired a child with the help of the Lord.  She seen her generative power as part of the sharing of divine power.

Scripture records that God created man in his own image: male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish (or fill) the earth (Genesis 1:27-28).  God not only created man from the dust of the ground; and woman from the rib of man (Genesis 2:21-22), but transition to life through the seed of man entering into the woman producing a living viable personage from that encounter.

Transition to Life - Productivity

Productivity in childbearing (transition to life from the womb) has always been in God's plan for mankind.  It is within His ability to both open and close the womb.  Man in his desire to control such has intruded in God's design and plan for mankind.

Birth control, or limiting transition to life, become an issue of major importance because of concern of population growth.  An encyclopedia noted:  The birth control movement persisted when woman's rights became an issue.  A Nation Birth Control League was established in 1915, becoming the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in 1942 and then, in 1963, the Planned Parenthood-World Population organization.

Transition to life from the mother's womb has drastically been curtailed through legalized abortion in many countries; even the killing of the unborn in late stages of pregnancy.

God's Plan Tampered With

Transition to life from the womb is being tampered with in the homosexuality and transgender movement.  Man has consistently hindered God's plan for mankind by placing stumbling blocks in the way.  Some countries attempted to control the right to life concept by specifying the family size; only to find later that there was a shortage of life to carry on the next generation.

Man does not have the right to shove God aside with their own pre-conceived notions.  Tampering with transition to life from the woman's womb is an abomination to God.  In sacrificing children to idol worship God stated:  You have slain my children, and delivered (or offered) them to cause them to pass through the fire for them (Ezekiel 16:21).

Ordained by God

Transition to life is not to be tampered with as it has been ordained by God.  One will be held accountable for destroying God's creation; unless genuine repentance is sought.  It is not a woman's right to destroy that which God has ordained.

When the earth become corrupt before God; He did not allow the continuation but destroyed all except the eight souls in the ark to replenish the earth when the flood abated.  He said to Noah and his sons:  Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish (or fill) the earth (Genesis 9:1).

God is in control; one need not be concerned about over population because natural disasters, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, opening and closing of wombs,  and other sources, readily address this issue; unless man attempts to intervene with his own ill-conceived notions.

Spiritual Transition to Life

Transition to life is not only from the mother's womb but also through a spiritual transformation.  It is the gift of God, mediated through faith in Jesus Christ.  It is the importation of a new nature; brought to perfection through God, a transition to life everlasting through His Son.

The first birth in transition to life was through the womb of a woman; the second transition to life, is being born-again, through acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  A question was asked: How can a man be born when he is old?  Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born (John 3:4)?

The answer: That which is born of the flesh (physical birth from a woman's womb) is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit (a spiritual birth in Christ) is spirit (John 3:6).  The new birth (of being born-again) reveals a work of God from above just as the birth from the womb was created by God.

Source of Life Itself

Scripture reveals the source of life itself: Thus saith the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he gives breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein (Isaiah 42:5).

Transition to life. both physically and spiritually, comes from God.  The preciousness of life is expounded upon in God's Word; not to be treated lightly nor destroyed by man, but to be cherished as a creation of God.

Blocking of Path God Intended

Transition to life, both physically through the womb, and spiritually through Christ Jesus, are of upmost importance to every human being on earth.  For man to tamper with such is to tamper with God.  God's creation of male and female initially provided a place of paradise to dwell in.

When the devil, through the serpent in the Garden of Eden, placed temptation before Adam and Eve, who partook of the forbidden fruit to override obedience to God's Word.  From that day, to our present time, the devil has actively been engaged in blocking the path that God intended for mankind.

The apostle Paul wrote:  If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost (or perishing).  In whom the god of this world (or the devil) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).  Man is equal to blame when he devalues, or attempts to wipe out, the spread of the gospel message.

Quotations Concerning Life - One's Birth

I look upon life as a gift from God.  I did nothing to earn it.  Now that the time is coming to give it back, I have no right to complain (Joyce Cary).  Life is a gift of God and is divine (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow).  Life is God's novel so let him write it (Isaac Singer).

God has given to man a short time here on earth and yet upon this short time eternity depends (Jeremy Taylor).  A quote concerning one's birth:  The birth of every baby is God's vote of confidence in the future of man (Erich Fromm).

Life Terminated by Man

If transition to life is terminated by man; who knows the contribution that life, which was destroyed, may have contributed to society?  There are those who consider it a woman's right to terminate a life still in the mother's womb.  God sees it otherwise and unless repentance is sought will not hold one guiltless for terminating what He has created.

There are many taking a stand for the right of transition to life and may God's blessings be on such efforts; to open the eyes of those who are blinded to the truth.  God revealed to the prophet Ezekiel "All souls are mine" (Ezekiel 18:4).  It does not single out just the saved of the earth but all souls whether committed to God or not.

A Graduation to Something Better

The apostle Paul wrote: For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).  A Bible commentary noted:  Living is attractive but death is a graduation to something better; it is a promotion to the heavenly presence of Christ and perfect fellowship with Him.

Transition to life; a spiritual life in Christ (of being born-again), brings one to an eternity in Christ.  A genuine conversion to Christ will bring about the fruit of that conversion.  One renounces their pre-conversion life and sins; to be changed to the newness of Christ.  There is a noticeable change when one is spiritually "born-again" in Christ.

Born-Again Believer

A born-again believer is to put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24).  He is to put away lying by speaking the truth.  He is to give no opportunity to the devil who becomes one's adversity at the moment of conversion in Christ.  He is to steal no more.

He is to let no corrupt communication proceed from his mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearer.  He is to grieve not God's Spirit, whereby one is sealed to the day of redemption.

He is to not allow bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, or evil speaking to be a part of  him, nor malice.  He is to be kind, forgiving, even as God in Christ forgave Him (Ephesians 4:25-32).
