Ungodly persuasion has been on a upswing; with open reign towards exploiting the ungodliness of man, opposing any who would attempt to countermand such a effort.  (Comment)

Apostle Paul, in addressing some within the church, asked:  You did run well; who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth (Galatians 5:7)?  He was addressing  those who once had a profession of faith with a zealous towards the truths of the Gospel.

Then deceivers, false teachers, began to spread their poisonous vermin to withdraw them from their former conviction.  We are seeing this happening in many Western churches today who are withdrawing from the soundness of Biblical doctrines.  Worldliness is being allowed to intoxicate the church with its influence.

When Paul asked, Who did hinder you, He knew what had happened but wanted those deceived to come to recognition of the ungodly persuasion that had come into focus.  For he said:  This persuasion come not of him that called you (Galatians 5:8).

This persuasion referred to pressure tactics being exercised to loosen some within the church from their previous commitment.  It was the same method of enticement used by the serpent in the Garden of Eden to sway Eve to become disobedient to God's Word, bringing the downfall of man (Genesis 3:1-5).

We are seeing a similar pattern by the ungodly persuasion of today.  The intermixing of the world is being allowed to tamper with the Word of God.  We are seeing a rapid gain of acceptance, of the previously unacceptable, not only in the secular world but the church as well.

Persuasion is the process by which a person's attitude or behavior is influenced.  We are seeing evil in the world taking the lives of the innocent with no regard towards humanity.

Ungodly persuasion is often received through electronic means that enhances the ungodliness of man.  One such example is social media which open promotes the concept of ungodly behavior rather than encourage a godly deportment.

In the past, preachers used the spoken Word of God to inspire virtuous behavior but today we are seeing a decline of such.  There is a new generation of believers who are allowing deceptive practices to influence rather than adherence to the Unadulterated Word of God.  Ungodly persuasion is being offered which walks all over the virtuous behavior of yesteryear.

One person noted in the 90's:  If humanity continues to drift morally and socially during the next century, as it did during the present one, we will sink into the abyss of total corruption and despair.

Today, this has advanced as a rubber band about to reach its breaking point. We have evolved far past the decency and morals of the past.  Ungodly persuasion now flaunts itself through open proclamation of ungodly lifestyles with a demand of acceptance.  The ungodliness of man has positioned himself in areas of authority to help nourish the ungodly persuasion of today.

God's Word admonishes the believer to not be caught up in the devices of the ungodly:  Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sits int he seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord (Psalm 1:1-2).

The Lord knows the way of righteousness: but the way of the ungodly shall perish (Psalm 1:6).  The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (or suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18).

Shun profane and vain babblings (or worthless talk): for they will increase into more ungodliness (2 Timothy 2:16).  Give not that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, let they trample them under their feet, and turn again and tear you (Matthew 7:6-7).

The reference to dogs and swine refer to those who have deliberately rejected the message of truth.  They have closed their ears to the truth and turned themselves over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient (Romans 1:28).  They have become hardhearted towards the truth with their conscience being seared as a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:2).

The Lord is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).  This clearly expresses His desire for the salvation of all who will trust in Him.

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (the Lord Jesus Christ) shall be saved (Romans 10:13).  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

The Lord Jesus Christ stands at the door (the door of one's heart) and knocks; if any man hears His voice, and opens the door (and only you can), He will come into him, and will dine with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).  For there is salvation in any other: for there is no other name under Heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Whom having not seen, you love; in whom though now you see him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith the salvation of the soul (1 Peter 1:8-9).  The ungodly persuasion of today, can offer nothing but earthly pleasures, a sin-filled life, but God offers eternal life and a heavenly abode, through acceptance of His Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) into one's heart and life!
