The Freshness of God's Spirit
The freshness of God's Spirit is prevalent, to the believer, when one's focus is on God and that of His only begotten Son. The word freshness implies being full or renewed in vigor. God has wonderfully supplied a fresh outpouring of His Spirit to those who are prepared in their heart and life to receive the blessings of His Spirit.
Scripture records that on the day of Pentecost there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (or that of God's Spirit). And the apostle Peter, lifted up his voice, and said, This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts, Chapter 2).
When I yielded my heart and life over to the Lord in 1978 I felt the presence of God's Spirit, the Holy Ghost, for the first time in my life. Scripture records that He is the Third Part of the Trinity. His presence was so strong that day and even now when I dwell on the goodness of God, and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Missionary in the Amazon's
One missionary of whom I know personally, that ministers in the Amazon's, is seeing tremendous success through the leadership of God's Spirit. One can tell that He is truly amazed as one reads his account of what is taking place. He has been ministering in that area for a number of years but is just now seeing such tremendous and exciting results as he labors in the vineyard for the Lord. There is a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit as revealed on His Website
"South American Call."
Being Filled with God's Spirit
A bible commentary speaks of the fullness of God's Spirit in saying: The words be filled mean "be continually filled" emphasizing that the fullness of the Spirit is a repeated experience for believers. God desires that the Holy Ghost control the minds of Christians so that they will walk in the Spirit, speak on behalf of God, and understand the things of God. Every Christian should be filled with the Spirit in order that they may have God's power to serve Him.As previously mentioned, South American Call, a missionary effort in the Amazon's, is seeing a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit on the inhabitants of that land from hearing the Word of God proclaimed. This is not only happening through this missionary effort but many others as well as the freshness of God's Spirit is being revealed to those who are open to the Gospel and its fullness.
Churches in America
The churches in America need to allow such a visitation, the conviction of the soul, and a renewal of one's walk in the Lord. I have seen the effects of such a manifestation and it is wondrous to behold. But even more important is allowing God's Spirit to manifest Himself in one's own life.
Churches may have changed but God's Word, and Spirit, has not. The prevalence of God's Spirit to convict is still a necessity that cannot be pushed aside; if conviction is to come. I thank God for the churches that still allow God's presence to be manifested, allow conviction to flow as water unabated or unobstructed in its flow. Where the freshness of God's Spirit is prevalent there is growth, not decline, as long as people seek out the truth as revealed by Him.
Let us pray for a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit, in our land, in our churches, to facilitate hearts and lives to serve the Lord in gratitude and love for what He did for us. Allow the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, to be a part of our being, that our lives may be fruitful and alive in them!
