Is America at a crossroads in its relationship to God; or has it already passed onto a road that will bring God's judgmental stroke? Are we already seeing the results of God's taking away the protective hedge as found in the Parable of the Vineyard (Isaiah 5:1-7)?
In this parable God planted a vineyard; that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. It was in reference to the men of Judah and the house of Israel. In the parable they are condemned for parading their sin before God. There was no shame, no remorse, no fear of God. (Comment)
Hear the Word of the Lord you children of Israel: for the Lord has a controversy (or charge against) the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land (Hosea 4:1).
Does God have a controversy with America? Is America at a Crossroads? As America continues sliding deeper and deeper into a cesspool of filth and degradation; flaunting her sins openly, what would preclude God's judgment?
What makes America, or any other nation, think they can weigh in on a sinful nature, seemingly without reproach, and not be weighed in the balance (Daniel 5:27)? Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, became of the blindness (or hardening) of their heart. Who being past feeling have given themselves to lasciviousness (or that which is lewd or lustful), to work all uncleanness with greediness (Ephesians 4:18-19).
There are those who flaunt the Word of God by misinterpreting it, or ignoring it, to suit their own purpose or lifestyle. They are alienated from the life of God due to their ignorance of not accepting God's Word at its face value. Does this bring America at a crossroads or has it already chosen its road to follow?
The road of ungodliness will only lead to destruction unless one comes to realization of the error of their way and repentance comes into focus. God through His mercy gives space for repentance (2 Peter 3:9); unless one has become so entrenched in their sin they will not hear what "Thus Saith the Lord."
America, and many once godly nations, have a deceptive spirit sweeping forth; as a flood of devastation that washes away everything in its path. We are seeing the crumbling of "once" godly values as the ungodly sweep aside the morals of yesteryear. Scripture tells of those who will bring in destructive heresies and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their destructive ways; by reason the way of truth shall be evil spoken of (2 Peter 2:1-2).
America is at a crossroads and needs to decide which way it will go! The Word of God does not change to blend in with the environment, or culture, but is everlasting to everlasting, and changes not. It is those who wants acceptance of their ungodly ways, and lifestyles, that would attempt to alter that Word.
America was birthed in God. Its founding fathers had a Christian heritage and established this nation on godly precepts. This Christian heritage has been maintained until a relatively few short years ago; with much transpiring that has placed America at a crossroads. If it continues in its present trend it can only lead to the judgmental side of God rather than continuation of His merciful hand and blessings.
In the past; God used men of God to help set spiritual forces in motion that would preclude His judgment; if repentance came into focus. Even today, God has His watchman sounding the alarm, giving warning of that which is coming.
God's Word reveals a pathway towards reconciliation to God:
If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Is America at a crossroads; if so will she make the necessary changes to return to the God of her youth?
Product of the world are those who have become addicted to sin and wickedness through various means available.
A coming out! A day of reckoning; past offenses being revealed, with many being called to task for former abuses, with a new found freedom not formerly granted.
The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (or suppress) the truth in unrighteousness.
Ungodly persuasion has been on a upswing; with open reign towards exploiting the ungodliness of man, opposing any who would attempt to countermand.
It takes the right bait to make a catch! What method is our adversary the Devil using to catch his intended victims?
Return to Egypt in this text is used in a figurative sense but during the time of the wilderness experience it was a reality in the hearts of many.
The nature of sin is towards the appeasement of fleshly desires of man and allures one into its deceptive nature while hiding its real intent.
Dwelling in wickedness has become a normality in many once godly nations. There is an adoption of evil ways that far exceeds Babylon which was the hold of every foul spirit.
Breaking free is a reminiscence of the cry of David in the 40th Psalm. David had a sure hope and firm expection of God's help to deliver Him in a time of duress.
Blind leading the blind has attributed to many falling into the snare of deception. The way that seems right may not be the best or righteous way.
