INTRODUCTION

Hidden agenda of today is any undisclosed motive or personal goal that drives someone's actions while they present a different perspective. People with a hidden agenda tend to steer conversations toward their own interests and offers help only when it benefits them. When someone acts this way, they appear to be doing one thing while secretly trying to achieve a completely different, often self-serving goal.

Hidden agenda of today forestalls truth being promulgated with a constructive path being embraced towards deceit to enhance a desired goal.  There are many devices being utilized to promulgated one’s hidden agenda towards acceptability; such as mainstream and social media, and other venues, that endear one to the desired path of the originator, with truth being disguised or sidetracked.

Array of Ungodliness

There is an array of ungodliness (sinfulness) being promoted with hidden agenda of today to entrap, ensnare, and enslave one to its evil devices; being promoted as healthy to the soul, when in reality (unless repentance enters into the picture) it will bring the judgment of God. 

Hidden agenda of today paints a pretty picture making sin appear attractive without revealing its destructive nature.  Apostle Paul wrote: The wages of sin (ungodliness) is death (physical as well as spiritual) but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:23). The choice lies with each individual as to where their final destiny (Heaven or Hell) will be.

Deliverance from Evil

The Psalmist David wrote:  The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords: they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins (traps) for me (Psalm 40:5).  It was noted they used artful methods to ensnare David; they lay in wait for him, to seize him, with insidious and secret ways to trap him.  In the hidden agenda of today; the ungodliness of man attempts to ensnare, through addictive means, to hold one fast to its influence.

David turned to God for deliverance: I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry (prayer).  He brought me up out of a horrible pit (destruction), out of the miry clay (attempting to hold him there), and set my feet upon a rock (salvation), and established my steps (goings) (Psalm 40:1-2).  Hidden agenda of today will not reveal the pathway of deliverance; rather encourage one to remain in bondage to its destructive measure.

Hidden Hatred

Scripture reveals: He that hides hatred with lying lips (hidden agenda of today), and he that utters a slander, is a fool (Proverbs 10:18).  It was noted that lying lips hide hatred; pretends to be a friend but inwardly nourishes and cherishes hated, which is covered or concealed.

Character assassination plays into the picture, where a person is defamed in a public manner, with a multitude of words that would attempt to destroy one’s good name and reputation.  Hidden agenda of today waits an opportunity to promote such activity; that would defame an opponent, who is promoting an opposing view.  

Nothing Hidden

Scripture reveals: Fear them not; for there is nothing covered (hidden) that shall not be revealed, and hid that shall not be known (Matthew 10:26).  It was noted that one is to be not afraid of reproaches and reviling which may be covered (through hidden agenda of today) with pretenses but will be made manifest in due time.

We are witnessing, in many nations, chaos and disunity, as a norm for the day.  Apostle Paul warned: If you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed one of another (Galatians 5:15).  Jesus warned: Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls (Luke 11:17).

Focus

Hidden agenda of today is being utilized to dwarf acceptance of the truth and enhancing a desired slant that disguises the truth.  We are witnessing a minority being presented as a majority, through various methods.  They are as a fine-tuned instrument that has become skilled in deception; addicted to deceit, with hidden agenda being camouflaged to obtain a desired goal.  We are witnessing names and abbreviations changed to hide the truthfulness of what is being presented.

Deception is being crafted towards gain of what under normal circumstances would be rejected.  We are witnessing the reporting of falsified facts without any concrete evidence towards what is being revealed. Thank God for factual reporting of events and happenings. Thank God for those who will seek out the truth though reliable sources to offset the hidden agenda of today that would produce lies and unconfirmed facts.

Fires of Freedom

If the fires of freedom and civil liberties burn low in other lands, they must be made brighter in our own.  If in other lands, the press and books and literature of all kinds are censored, we must redouble our effort here to keep them free.  If in other lands the eternal truths of the past are threatened by intolerance, we must provide a safe place for their continuation (Franklin D. Roosevelt).

Thank God for words of encouragement towards keeping alive the fires of freedom and civil liberties as the hidden agenda of today seeks to threaten the livability of such.  We are witnessing many nations seeking domination on a global front; that would seek to stamp out freedom. Thank God for nations, and individuals, who seek to keep alive the liberties presently enjoyed through persistence in resisting those who would attempt to take away freedom.

Practice to Deceive

What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive (Walter Scott).  Hidden agenda of today is enhancing those words.  Apostle Paul wrote: Henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with the wind of doctrine, by the sleight (trickery) of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive (Ephesians 4:14).  Let no man deceive you with vain (empty) words (Ephesians 5:6).

Hidden agenda of today intending to deceive; rather than capitalize on the truth, is being promulgated and becoming acceptable.  Scripture reveals: There is a way that seems right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12).  The Psalmist David wrote: The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords (Psalm 55:21).

Global Conflict

There are those who seek domination with hidden agenda of today to expound on desired goals.  There is enhancement of evil rather than good to accomplish those means.  The Prophet Isaiah revealed a time that evil would be called good and good evil; that one would put darkness for light and light for darkness; bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter; those who would be wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight (Isaiah 5:20).

We are witnessing this in the political realm in many countries; even some churches who are allowing evil to become acceptable rather than the Unadulterated (Pure) Word of God.  One man noted that the church use to set an example for the world, but now the world is setting an example for the church.  We are witnessing an attempt to conquer one another despite Apostle Paul’s warning: Take heed that you are not consumed one of another (Galatians 5:15).

Peace in a Troubled World

Peace is the absence of mental stress or anxiety, a state of quiet or tranquility, a true and lasting peace that only can come from the Peace-giver, Jesus Christ, who said: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). 

When one listens to reports, of a troublesome nature, they can become fearful if not anchored with the peace of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Apostle Paul wrote: Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).  Again, the only true source of peace is through the Peace-giver, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Salvation of the Soul

Hidden agenda of today would attempt to divert any attempt to seek salvation of the soul; by placing pleasure seeking activities to outshine God’s continued provision for mankind through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  There is a promotion of worldly activities and entertainment rather than the soul-searching message of deliverance.

God’s love was clearly demonstrated at Calvary when His Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) died for our sins.  Scripture reveals: God so loved the world (you and I), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Apostle Paul wrote: Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
