The freshness of God's Spirit is prevalent, to the believer, when one's focus is on God and of His only begotten Son. The word fresh implies being full or renewed. God has wonderfully supplied an outpouring of His Spirit to those who are prepared in their heart and life to receive the blessings of His Spirit.
Scripture records that on the day of Pentecost there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (or that of God's Spirit). And apostle Peter lifted up his voice, saying, "This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel: It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" (Acts 2:16-39).
When I yielded my heart and life over to the Lord; I felt the presence of God's Spirit for the first time in my life. Scripture records that He is the Third Part of the Trinity or Godhead. His presence was so strong that day, and even to this day, when I dwell on the goodness of God and of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
One missionary of whom I know personally, that ministers in the Amazon's, is seeing tremendous success through the leadership of God's Spirit. One can tell that Rev. Joe Mercer is truly amazed at what God is doing, in giving his account of what is taking place. He has been ministering in the Amazon's for a number of years; and is seeing tremendous and exciting results, as he labors in the vineyard for the Lord. There is a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit as reflected on His Website "South American Call."
The term "filled" means to be continually filled emphasizing that the fullness of the Spirit is a continued experience for believers. God desires that the Holy Ghost (or that of His Spirit) guide the minds of Christians so that they will walk in the Spirit, speak on behalf of God, and understand the things of God. Every Christian should be filled with the Spirit in order that they may have God's power to serve Him.
As previously mentioned, South American Call, a missionary effort in the Amazon's, is seeing the outpouring of God's Spirit on the inhabitants of the land after hearing the Word of God proclaimed. This is not only happening through this missionary effort but many others as well. The fresh outpouring of God's Spirit is being revealed to those who are open to the fullness of the Gospel message.
Churches in America need to allow such a visitation, with conviction of the soul, and a renewal of one's walk in the Lord. I have seen the effects of such a manifestation and it is wondrous to behold. But even more important is allowing God's Spirit to manifest Himself in one's own life. Churches may have changed; but God's Word, and Spirit, has not. The prevalence of God's Spirit to convict is a necessity that cannot be pushed aside; if conviction is to come.
I thank God for the churches that still allow God's presence to be manifested; allow conviction to flow as water unabated or unobstructed in its flow. Where the fresh outpouring of God's Spirit is prevalent there is growth; not decline.
Let us pray for a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit, in the land, in the churches, to facilitate hearts and lives to serve the Lord in gratitude and love for what He done for us. Allow the Father, His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and that of His Spirit, to be a part of one's being; that lives may be fruitful in serving the Lord!
