Battering ram against righteousness is descriptive of a cultural revolution that is threatening the very core of America's "One Nation Under God" concept. The battering ram was a military weapon in ancient times to beat down the walls of a besieged place. It was highly effective particularly when in use by the Roman army.
Figurative speaking it is being used in our modern day moral breakdown to ram away at any opposition towards stopping or adverting its advance. America is rapidly becoming a nation immune to biblical guidance; or even allowing such to be a part of one's life and upbringing. (Comment)
The 2015 U. S. Supreme Court ruling that legalized same sex marriage was only a prelude to another earth shaking moral breakdown; the transgender movement. Its acceptance by an immoral society has fostered additional problems. The biblical values which made America the greatest nation on earth are now threatened with an attempt to drastically reduce such values.
In 2002 a film titled "Time Changer" offered a glimpse of the erosion of moral values over a 100 year period. Its narrative included the church; as to how it allowed the diminish of godly values and becoming secular in nature.
America's moral decay is in direct opposition to the righteousness of God which exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34). Laws are being instituted to embrace and enforce ungodliness; along with judicial rulings. The capacity towards ungodliness is flourishing as a battering ram against righteousness in a merciless assault.
The Unadulterated (or pure) Word of God needs to ring loud and clear in America, and elsewhere, without watering it down, or the tickling of the ear (2 Timothy 4:2); telling people what they want to hear, not what they need to hear.
A legendary evangelist of the first Great Awakening, Charles G. Finney wrote: Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits. If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours to a great degree. Let us not ignore this fact; but let us lay it to heart, and awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation.
A famous 19th century French statesman, and historian traveled to America to discover the reasons for the incredible success of this new nation, he wrote: Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.
We are seeing a culture revolution today that far exceeds what our forefathers, who established America on a godly foundation, could have imagined. Who could have imagined biblical marriage giving way to same sex marriage?
Who could have imagined the chaos being created by a transgender movement that questions the God-given gender identification at birth? Who could have imagined surgery being performed to change that identity? Who could have imagined the sex, nudity, and language evolution that has taken place? Who could have imagined the drugs, alcohol, and immorality that has surfaced?
A Sunday school commentary noted: We are in a crucial moment throughout what once were the Christian nations of the Western world. Many today, in these nations, want secular values without reference to God.
It will take a mighty outpouring of God's Spirit; and a willingness to pay heed to "What Thus Saith the Lord" to awake people out of their acceptance of ungodly ways and the attitude of tolerance towards allowing such to take place.
America, and other once godly nations, need a renewal in God; to return to His ways, and not of man's own devising (Romans 10:3). Leadership needs to be instilled with godly values; not to depart from them because of the influence of an immoral society.
The battering ram against righteousness; allowing the ungodliness of man to flourish, is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed, before God intervenes with a judgmental stroke! Many times throughout Scripture, after a warning was given, and man ignored that warning, judgment came.
Glimpse of One Life is an autobiography of the author of this website. I have a limited remembrance of my early childhood with my mother passing away when I was five.
A Hindu Chaplain opened the U. S. Senate's morning session with prayer, normally a Judeo-Christian tradition. The Hindu sect boasts a vast gallery of gods.
In memory of my wife I included a couple of poems that were inspired by God. I do not claim to be a poet but I have had some God-given poems in my lifetime.
Our Christian heritage is being threatened; to hijack that which has made America great! To hijack is to overpower; or take over something, with no right to do so.
