Inventors of evil things are originators of wicked, immoral, and sinful lifestyles in direct opposition to God's Word. There is a flotation of such that would not survive in a godly society. Many once godly nations have allowed such to surface, and stay afloat, rather than deal with them.
Scripture gives warning: The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (or suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). Inventors of evil things need to realize that such is an abomination in the sight of God and the consequences for doing so.
A Bible commentary noted: The wrath is not the revelation of a future judgment of God or of the Great Tribulation but a present revelation that parallels the present revelation of God's righteousness. Ungodliness is failure in the religious realm. Unrighteousness is failure in the moral sphere of injustice toward man.
Noah H. Mack, in a sermon titled "Little Foxes" noted: Those who have been responsible for the housekeeping has not been watchful enough and let the little foxes creep into the vineyard and now they are so numerous that they cannot be driven out by ordinary methods of teaching and warning, for they well-nigh have possession of the vineyard.
Those words were proclaimed in the 30's; how much more are we seeing an allowance being afforded towards the same with devastating results? Inventors of evil things are coming into focus and bringing havoc in a gigantic way. It is like the Titanic racing towards destruction despite warnings of possible danger!
Scripture reveals: Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness: full of envy, murder, strife (debate), deceit, malignity (evil-mindedness), whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful (violent), proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable (unforgiving), unmerciful (Romans 1:29-31).
We are seeing these traits today! Backbiters are those who publicly defame the character of individuals in an attempt to tarnish their good name and reputation. Haters of God are workers of iniquity; deniers of the providence of God, showing themselves to be enemies to Him by their evil works.
One man noted: Evil unchecked grows and evil tolerated poisons the whole system (Author Unknown). We are seeing such today because of an ungodly society that demands tolerance and acceptability rather than righteousness.
Inventors of evil things are poisoning the minds of the youth at an early age. Glorification of ungodly lifestyles, which are condemned in God's Word, has been allowed into the public school system and its educational process.
Scripture reveals the evilness of man: There is no faithfulness (uprightness) in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness (destruction); their throat is an open sepulcher (or tomb); they flatter with their tongue. Destroy you them, O God (pronounce them guilty), let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against you (Psalm 5:9-10).
These characteristics are identified as morally objectionable behavior; which causes harm or destruction; evil influences or deeds; evil speaking toward others, abomination, immoral, and obscene. We are seeing acceptance of such traits of evil with many not realizing the implications (or even caring) for having done so.
The prophet Jeremiah, in speaking the words of the Lord, said: Were they ashamed when they had committed abominations? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush (or even know how): therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation (punishment) they shall be cast down, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 8:12).
There are those who are being held captive by the things of this world; scripture reveals: For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father; but is of the world (1 John 2:16). We now have easy access to such through the Internet, movie industry, television programming, and other outlets that have opened the door to receive the ungodliness of man.
The Lord in speaking to the prophet Ezekiel asked: Son of man, have you seen what ancients (elders) of the house of Israel do in the dark chambers (room of their idols), of his imagery? For they say, The Lord see us not; the Lord has forsaken the earth (land) (Ezekiel 8:12). Some in Ezekiel's day knew the right way; but chose to follow another, even in God's house
Scripture reveals: The Lord looks from heaven; he beholds all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation; he looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioned their hearts alike (individually); he considers (understands) all their works (Psalm 33:13-15).
Inventors of evil things; originators of wicked, immoral, and sinful lifestyles, are prevailing in our society. It is unfortunate that they have been allowed to make their presence known in once godly nations!
There is a drastic need for a return to God! Scripture reveals:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
While this promise was originally given to King Solomon regarding the people of Israel, it is applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith! The rejection of such is also noted:
But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; then will I pluck them (Israel) up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified (set apart) for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword, among all nations (2 Chronicles 7:19-20).
Inventors of evil things need to come to a realization to be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7). A Bible commentary noted: To disobey God's commands and then escape divine punishment would be to mock (outwit) God, making a mockery of Him and His Word. The word reap is to be recompensed; unless forgiveness is sought.
