ERROR OF THE WICKED

Error-of-the-Wicked

INTROUCTION

Error of the wicked is in walking away from the truth through a course of action that is a deviation from justice or right.  We have witnessed a build up of ungodliness through venues that were originally created for the good of mankind but have been commandeered by the ungodly to promote their agenda.

An error is the most dangerous in proportion to the degree of truth which it contains (Henri Amiel).  There is an effort on behalf of the wicked to promote ungodly methods in an innocent fashion with a degree of truth to accomplish their goal of deception and embracement.

Error of the Wicked
Enhanced Acceptance

Error of the wicked is very much in evidence as we witness promotional tools being utilized to enhance acceptance.  There is such an influence rising from Socialism and Marxism, cousins to Communism; Critical Race Theory (CRT), the Great Reset Plan, instated by the World Economic Forum; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); to name but a few that would upset the normality of life.

Included in the spin-off of error of the wicked is a drive to maintain legalized abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and transgenderism. Promotional tools include: Discredit family as an institution; control of the schools to use as tools for promoting ungodly agenda.

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them violation of free speech and free press; break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography in books, magazines, motion pictures, and TV; infiltrate the press, gain control of key positions in government, radio, TV, and motion pictures; infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion.

Lessening of Standards

Ignorance of God’s Word and failure to obey His teachings are among the major reasons that people’s minds fall into error (Gary R. Collins). We are witnessing a lessening of standards (Biblically based) previously adhered to with the church in many cases lowering its guard, allowing it to fester and grow.  It was noted that the church use to set the standard for the world; now the world is setting the standard for the church.

Noah H. Mack, in a sermon titled “Little Foxes” noted:  This writer with much interest and prayer observed the movements and efforts of the church for more than thirty-five years; all this while it has developed a great power to work, but almost as fast as she grows in efficiency for labor she drifts into worldliness in one way or another and all because of fostered pride and love of pleasure.

Those who have been responsible for the housekeeping in the church has not been watchful enough and let the little foxes creep into the vineyard and now they are so numerous and big that they cannot be driven out by ordinary methods of teaching and warning, for they well-nigh have possession of the vineyard.

Wicked Stumble

Scripture reveals: The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble (Proverbs 4:19).  The error of the wicked is they are convinced they are correct in what they are promoting.  If a formerly godly nation is no longer be under the protective hand of God; it may because it has walked away from obedience to His Word, allowing the error of the wicked to be planted rather than rooted out.

There is an onrush of ungodly activity being pursued towards acceptance and desirability, rather than being condemned.  Apostle Paul identified such as being past feeling, by giving oneself over to lasciviousness (immorality), to work all uncleanness with greediness (becoming desirable) (Ephesians 5:6).

God of This World

Fifty-One

Apostle Paul wrote: If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost (perishing); in whom the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

It was noted that they were so controlled by Satan that he effectively shields them from the light of the gospel of Christ.  We are witnessing the promotion of worldly elements within the church; with entertainment and appetizing traits that would hinder the advancement of a godly deportment.

Apostle Peter wrote: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil (Satan), as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).  Peter encouraged the believer to resist steadfast in the faith; rather than heed the beckoning call of the enemy of one’s soul (Satan) through deception that would lead one astray from God’s Word.

Destructive Measures

Error of the wicked embraces deception, advancement, and control. We have witnessed destructive measures being instituted that would attempt to draw the believer from the firm foundation initially received on the Day of Salvation.  Acceptance is often through witnessing others embracing agenda that does not promote a godly stance; making such appear as acceptable, through God’s Word proclaims otherwise.

Compromise is another tool of the error of the wicked towards no longing adhering to the surety of God’s Word. We have witnessed worldly compromise, even within the church, that expounds on acceptance rather than rejection.  Identity of the church use to be readily identifiable, but now its makeup is much the same as the world; with God’s Word being compromised to make one lean towards acceptance of the previously unacceptable; and no longer adhering to the Unadulterated (Pure) Word of God.

Renewing of the Mind

Apostle Paul wrote: Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service; and be not conformed to this world; but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2).

It was noted that be not conformed is to resist being poured into the mold of present day thinking, value systems, and conduct of this world; evaluating every decision based on the Word of God, knowing that obedience beings God’s blessing.

Apostle Paul stated: Abhor that which is evil (error of the wicked); cleave (cling) to that which is good (Romans 12:9), which will be more difficult as the church allows infiltration of the world to be manifested.

Perilous Times

The-Forces-of-Evil

The error of the wicked is identified by Apostle Paul: In the last days (which we are in) are perilous times; men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (without self-control), fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady (reckless).

High-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away (2 Timothy 3:1-5).  A form of godliness is mere religion without power or spiritual life.  We are witnessing this today, with such being not of God; but of the flesh, due to the error of the wicked being manifested.

Will Not Endure Sound
Dotrine

The error of the wicked is revealed to Timothy, a young evangelist, by Apostle Paul: He was instructed to preach the word, be instant (ready) in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears (hearing) from the truth, and shall be turned into fables (that which is fictitious).

Watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry (2 Timothy 4:2-5).  It was noted that preaching is the God-ordained means to prevent defection from the truth.  Teachers who appeal to itching ears tell people what they want to hear, not what they need to hear.

Salvation of the Soul

Apostle John wrote: He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he that believes not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides (remains) on him (John 3:36).  God is light and in him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:6).  If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ (shed on the Cross of Calvary) his (God’s) Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

Apostle Paul wrote: Whosoever shall call upon the name the Lord (Jesus Christ) shall be saved (Romans 10:13). The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).  There is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Jesus extended an invitation: I stand at the door (door of one’s heart) and knock; if any man hear my voice (only you can) and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup (dine) with him and he with me (Revelation 3:20).  The choice is up to each individual as to where their final destination will be.
